These unique, handmade oysterments are fashioned from Pacific
Northwest oysters. The oysters are hand-picked, eaten, and
cleaned, and then the faces are sculpted from clay and fired
onto the shells. Finally, the oysterments are painstakingly hand-painted and
numbered. And now you can purchase these whimsical
collectibles for yourself or as a gift.Oysterments of the Sea are the creation of visionary artist Deb
Stoltenberg (who sees art in an oyster shell) and her husband Stu (the preparation expert who eats and cleans the oysters).
Now oysters are not only delicious edibles, but lasting
ornaments that reflect their Pacific Northwest origins. You

- Oysterments have been created for the Presidents' personal Christmas trees
for the last two administrations.

New Oysterment models are added each year while other designs are
retired and some are even in limited production. Choose a Santa, an
Indian Chief, a Cowboy or a Fireman. Or maybe you would like a
Witch, a Mermaid, or a limited edition Mrs. Y2Klaus (while they
last), Whatever your choice, its sure to bring a smile to the

is unique. And like real folks, our "people" have imperfections too.
But the fact is, its those differences that "are the spice of life". The

The limited edition Mrs.
Y2Klaus, was created especially for the 1999 Presidential Christmas Tree.
Only 200 of these ornaments were made.
First Lady Hilary Clinton is being presented with the first Oysterment
in this edition by the creator's friends, the Hedlands. President and
Mrs. Bush were gifted with a Spirit of 9/11/01 Santa along with a special Betsy
Ross Oysterment. |

Knotty People!
With an open
imagination, you can see not only the beauty of nature's creations but what
these wonders can become. The Knotty People collection is a result
of one artist's perspective on an usual oddity of nature.Many years ago, in
the lush woods of the Pacific Northwest, a multitude of spruce trees thrived.
As time went on and the trees aged, some of them fell and their limbs broke off
and rolled into nearby rivers. The seasons passed and the winter snows
melted causing the rivers to rise and wash the branches down to the ocean.
The tides and waves rolled the boughs over and over until the knots popped out
of them and eventually washed to shore. There they dried in the seaside
sun and over time became almost petrified. However, unlike cypress knees, these
knots are heavy. And a new painter's palette was
born.
